Waterfall has been working to transform the lives of people in remote communities in Gujarat and Rajasthan since 2011.
The Rajasthan region has arid deserts and water is a scarce commodity. Building wells in these areas has transformed the lives of people and animals, with people having to travel less to get clean drinking water, giving children access to a better quality of life, and minimizing disease.
We are pleased to report that just in 2015/2016, eight wells have already been completed in the Barmer district of Rajasthan, a region famous for its carved wooden furniture, hand block printing, and handicrafts.
Wells have been erected in Barsa, Hameerani, and Bane Ki Basti. These are simple villages where people make their living through agriculture and other small scale and cottage industries. The provision of wells has significantly enhanced the quality of life of those who reside in these villages.
